Shallow Water Fishing Trip

Captain Stacy delivers action-packed St Marks shallow water thrills!

St Marks Fall Inshore Trip - Perfect Conditions for Family Fun

Anglers fishing out of St. Marks are enjoying exceptional light-tackle action across Apalachee Bay as water temperatures begin their initial drift toward autumn patterns. Recent trips on the shallow grass flats have produced steady catches of speckled trout St. Marks in 3 to 5 feet of water, with early-morning topwater lures triggering aggressive reaction strikes near deep edges. Redfish schools are concentrating along oyster bars during the incoming tide, making live shrimp and soft plastics on light jig heads the top-producing setup. As we transition into the coming weeks, changing water conditions will only push these inshore targets into tighter feeding patterns inside tidal creeks and river mouths.

Beyond the trout and redfish bite, targeted flounder are staging around rock piles and structure, while occasional cobia fishing Gulf Coast opportunities continue to reward sharp-eyed anglers watching channel markers. Midday hours are still ideal for family scalloping outings along the grass flats, offering a perfect double-header day of angling and underwater harvesting before summer cools off. Weather conditions have remained favorable for early departures, with calm morning seas providing excellent visibility for sight-casting along the flats.

Whether you want to hunt trophy redfish along the St. Marks River or plan a mixed-bag trip for the entire family, current conditions offer some of the best fishing of the season.
